Let's get personal over chicken pot pie. | Personal

I realize putting personal aspects of my life out on the table through my photography website isn't the most "professional" move I've made, but what the heck, let's give it a try!  I would love this space to be comfortable and familiar, inasmuch as one can be on the internet.  I want to share life through recipes, photos, and stories that allow for some honest conversation.  This will take time, so come along and share the journey with me.  Here goes:

Real, healthy food is a priority for my family, especially now that we have children.  (I have no doubt this will be further discussed in the weeks and months to come.)  So, when I make chicken pot pie, it's the real deal. I'm not going to lie, if I don't prep for this meal in advance, it's too much work for one day.  Also, I don't plan on re-inventing the wheel, my recipe is stolen from here: http://theelliotthomestead.com/2012/01/yogurt-dough-turkey-pot-pie/

Roast the chicken the day or two before.  I have my 'media naranja' (my husband) tear the meat off the carcass because I hate doing it.  (Love you, Ryan!)  Now, you must promise me one thing: do NOT throw away the chicken carcass/bones/fat/juicy goodness. Use it to make bone broth: http://nourishedkitchen.com/bone-broth/ And then use this glorious bone broth in your chicken pot pie.  Deal?
