It’s maaaybe one of my favorite things to be a part of such special, life-altering occasions. (I mean, this is my JOB! What!?) I was able to photograph Tom & Abby’s wedding and seeing them as new parents to their ADORABLE new little nugget was simply THE BEST (!). The morning we spent together was surreal. Sleeping At Last was playing in the background (one of my all-time favorites, and apparently Deke’s too!), coffee aromas filled the air, fresh snow falling outside, and PERFECT light streaming through their windows. It was a dream. And seriously, Tom and Abby are two of the warmest people you’ll ever meet. The feel of their home reflects this beautifully. Anyhow, YOU’RE WELCOME for all the newborn cuteness you’re about to scroll through. ;) ;) ;)
Dwell Hillcrest hosted one of the fabulous Gathering of Creatives events this month and it did not disappoint. Their space is filled with perfect textures in all the right places with loads of natural light streaming in from every angle. It was the ideal place to host a gathering focused on design. Abigail Miller (http://abiartcreative.com/), Kendra Miller (http://www.kendradawnphoto.com/), and Shyla Yoder (https://loveshyla.com/) are the women behind these gatherings and they are creative masterminds. Take some time to check them out. Red Mug Coffee kept us all warm and alert with their incredible coffee as we listened to fellow women business owners share their stories. Women like Claude from The Chris & Claude Co. and Rae from Daughters of Promise Magazine. (If I'm being honest here, I was SUPER intimidated/star-struck, to the point where I couldn't even make eye contact...I'm ridiculous. Ha!) There was also space for learning all kinds of things, from lettering techniques to budgeting for our businesses...we covered a lot of ground. Basically, it was a weekend filled with beauty. Beautiful people, beautiful food, beautiful spaces, beautiful textures, beauty everywhere.
Over the past several months I've been able to spend some time working with Brad and Emily (owners of The Oyster's Pearl) and I have to say, they're amazing. When you walk into their home, you immediately understand why their business is a success. They understand design and style and all things aesthetic. If you haven't already, check them out here: http://www.theoysterspearldesign.com/. Their sweet family just grew by one adorable little girl and I was honored to get a sneak peak into their everyday. There's something special about lifestyle sessions because it's REAL LIFE. No fluff, minimal posing, just realness. I love it.
