My dear friend, Liz, is havin’ a baby!! She’s one of those people I can literally pick up where we left off without skipping a beat. She’s so full of joy and beauty and I got to do her maternity pictures!!! It was maaaaybe one of the more impulsive things I’ve done, simply because she lives in COLORADO and I literally bought my ticket the hour I found out she was pregnant. Ha! Best.Decision.Ever. ANYWAY, she was a trooper. We got up before sunrise and headed to the Rocky Mountains and ya’ll…the light was MAGIC. SHEER MAGIC. After making Liz hike way too long, we headed back and promptly found a sweet little place for homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee. It was such a great morning. :)
The evening I met with Jordan and Emily for their session could not have been more perfect. We decided to make the drive to the Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, Ohio and holy-moly was it ever worth it! On top of the location being on point, these two love birds are genuine and AMAZING in front of the camera! Just see for yourselves… :)
So, I nervously send a message to this awesome photographer, Ariel (http://www.ariellynnphoto.com/). She's incredibly talented and I'd love an opportunity to work alongside her but, in my head, I'm like "there's no way". Ha! Turns out there is a way! She graciously agreed to do a portrait exchange with me and it was nothing short of MAGIC. We made the drive to Headlands Beach, fingers crossed, because there was a chance of bad weather. Within the hour we spent there, we encountered literally every possible variety of weather (minus snow), and sometimes all at once! As you scroll through this post, you'll be able to see the progression of crazy elements we experienced. Ariel was the PERFECT person to do this with because she didn't mind getting dirt on her feet and rain in her hair. It was the session dreams are made of and I am DYING to do more like this! Adventures and spontaneity are the perfect ingredients for authentic, STUNNING images.
