I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching couples go from just-married to parents! It’s the best! Several years ago, I photographed Mark and Nicole’s wedding (which was a dream!) and now I’m capturing them with their new little guy, Carson. And in all seriousness, these two ADORE their son. It was such a joy to watch them interact. I mean, Carson is laughing or smiling in basically EVERY picture…and he’s 8 months old! So much love…so beautiful.
This family. They’ve been dear friends for as long as I’ve been in Ohio, and they’re AMAZING. They’ve had an unbelievably difficult year and I wanted to make sure to capture some JOY… We initially decided to do an epic beach session with no kids…because how often do parents get to do this? Basically, never. ha! We get there and the beach is preeeetttty much uninhabitable because of the wind. We spend about 5 minutes photographing what we can and then bail. Round two: we head to a friend’s farm (Venture Heritage Farm) with the kiddos. Turns out, we should have done this from the start because it was perfect. It’s inspiring to see this crew still smiling and laughing after such a rough year. Like I said, they’re amazing.
They had me at “ferns”. Seriously though. When we met to chat more about their wedding, Jenna referenced her love for ferns…from that moment, I knew we would be a good fit. I also love ferns and basically most things green. They LOVE the outdoors and make a point to visit national parks all over the country. Their engagement shoot was basically us going on a mini-hike through the Ledges at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was filled with Autumn colors, tall pines, and (of course) the rocky ledges. I fully expect to see some great foliage at their wedding! (no pressure! ha!)
